Alfred Nebel’s hotel is located in the town of Meersburg, on the shores of Lake Constance, and offers 18 rooms, a gym and a spa area complete with a swimming pool. As in every hotel, the power consumption depends largely on the guests, with the sauna, consumer electronics, air conditioning systems and much more operating to ensure their comfort.
To save money, the hotel runs a combined heat and power unit. In the past, however, Nebel had to feed the excess power this produces into the grid at a price that is several times below the price he pays for electricity. Since he began producing even more power with a solar installation, a TESVOLT storage system has ensured that he can use the power himself and thereby save a considerable amount of money.
