LIRA service is medium-sized IT business based in Paderborn. It develops and operates a comprehensive resource planning software portfolio for one of the largest wood-processing companies in the world.
With a small data processing centre with mid-range servers, 60 workstations, and two heat pumps for heating and cooling the building, the business consumes around 250 megawatt hours annually. The new head office is situated on the Paderborn IT campus in a large low-rise building with a significant amount of roof space. It therefore made sense to use solar power to reduce the electricity drawn from the grid by using electricity produced on site. However, as the IT infrastructure has to run 24/7 and sometimes also has to be cooled, an electricity storage system was required as an addition to the photovoltaic installation. The decision was made to use the tried-and-tested TS HV 70 commercial storage system from Tesvolt. With its high-quality components and intelligent battery management system, it offers decades of high performance and reliability.
