Mains failure is a crucial consideration in many organisations. Letting ventilation, heating, cooling and production machines fall idle brings a risk of economic losses. While many companies use diesel emergency power generators as a backup, they incur high fuel and maintenance costs, as well as generating noise and emissions. An alternative solution is provided by battery-powered emergency power generators.

In the event of a power outage, backup power can be provided through compatible inverter solutions. In combination with selected SMA and KOSTAL inverters, TESVOLT FORTON and TESVOLT TAYTAN enable a reliable power supply for designated loads, ensuring continued operation even during grid outages.

How does it work?

Backup power is provided by a combination of a battery storage system and a compatible inverter. The battery supplies the stored energy, while the inverter takes over the power supply to selected loads in the event of a grid outage.

Typical applications include livestock farming, production and situations where uninterrupted cooling is required.

There is an interruption of a few milliseconds to a few seconds. Most electrical appliances do not even detect this interruption.

With emergency power, disconnection from the grid is always immediate with no grid assistance. With back-up power, disconnection from the grid only occurs after grid assistance has been provided (a requirement for PV installations). Disconnection from the grid is either automatic or manual.

TESVOLT storage systems don’t provide a UPS (uninterruptible power supply)
