One of the largest production facilities for stationary battery storage systems in Europe

TESVOLT AG, one of the innovation and market leaders for commercial and industrial energy storage solutions in Germany and Europe, today officially started construction of its new gigafactory at its headquarters in Lutherstadt Wittenberg with a ground-breaking ceremony. With a planned annual production capacity of 4 gigawatt hours, TESVOLT will build one of the largest facilities for commercial stationary battery storage systems in Europe. An investment volume of around 30 million euros is planned for the first construction phase, which includes the construction of the production facility and the fully automated high-bay warehouse. The TESVOLT Gigafactory, which will cover an area of almost 6,000 square metres, is scheduled to go into operation in 2025.

The first WSV workboat with purely battery-electric drive wins prestigious award

The Spatz, the tried-and-tested working vessel of the German Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration, was launched in August 2023 as an electrified version with a battery storage system from TESVOLT. It has now been awarded the prestigious title of "Inland Vessel of the Year" by the Hansa editorial team. The E-Spatz is the first working vessel of its kind to have a purely battery-electric drive and represents a milestone on the road to emission-free inland shipping.

New certificate confirms electrical and functional safety +++ TESVOLT demands stricter safety tests for battery storage systems

TÜV Rheinland has also taken a close look at the latest battery storage system generation from TESVOLT. The high-voltage storage systems TS HV 30 E, TS HV 50 E and TS HV 80 E passed the safety tests. TESVOLT is one of the few manufacturers on the market that can verify the safety of its energy storage systems for commerce and industry with certification from the independent testing institute. The IEC 62619 certification confirms both the electrical and functional safety of TESVOLT’s products, which are available throughout Europe.

18.3 MWh in storage capacity already added to the utility grid

The international project developer Green Energy 3000 GmbH and TESVOLT AG, one of the innovation and market leaders for commercial and industrial energy storage solutions, are continuing their collaboration with the launch of their fourth joint project. This involves deployment of TESVOLT battery containers in a new solar farm near Braunschweig. The solar farm will supply green electricity to around 5,000 households, while simultaneously reducing the load on the utility grid.

At this year’s smarter E Europe trade fair in Munich, TESVOLT has joined with DENIOS to present an all-in-one solution that combines a battery storage system and fire protection – the only one of its kind in the world. The POWER SAFE product line also meets the most stringent safety requirements in commercial and industrial settings, for example in operations located in water conservation areas or regions that are at a risk of forest fires, or as required by some insurers. Products in this line feature cases offering F90 fire resistance rating and are available in various sizes, from small-scale 80-kWh solutions to large energy storage systems with several megawatt hours.

73% of the German population are unsatisfied with progress in the energy transition, BUT…

Among people living in Germany, 73% are unsatisfied with the progress of the energy transition in the country. Just 2% of the population are highly satisfied with progress in the shift away from fossil fuels; 16% are satisfied. These are some of the findings of a representative survey just published by TESVOLT AG, one of the technology leaders for energy storage in commercial and industrial sectors, and the opinion research institute forsa. A total of 1,021 people aged 18 and over took part in the survey, which was held nationwide in late February and early March, 2023. The aim of the survey was to gauge the current mood of the population on the issues of energy, the energy transition and renewable energy.

The planned construction will include a highly automated production building for battery storage systems as well as a new research and development centre. The aim is for the carbon-neutral facility to ultimately reach a production capacity of up to four gigawatt hours per year. Construction work begins in spring 2023 and is expected to be completed in 2024.

Largest contract to date for the battery storage system manufacturer

Wittenberg, Germany, 4 October 2021 – The Schaper Group is working with battery storage system manufacturer Tesvolt to implement a range of “green hydrogen” projects. It is the largest contract in the history of the Wittenberg-based company, with the collaboration promising revenues of around EUR 40 million for Tesvolt by 2023. The Schaper Group is installing Tesvolt energy storage systems with a total capacity of up to 40 megawatt hours (MWh) for the hydrogen pioneer Apex Group. The intelligent battery storage solutions offer hydrogen electrolysers a reliable power supply when solar or wind systems fail to produce sufficient energy.
